‘ART WARS’ SINCE 2013
Founded and curated by Ben Moore, Art Wars is an ongoing exhibition of life-sized Stormtrooper helmets that have been transformed into highly collectable pieces of art by some of the world’s leading artists.
Art Wars was unveiled at the Saatchi Gallery during Frieze week in October 2013 featuring 20 artists including Damien Hirst, Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Bailey, Alison Jackson, Joana Vasocncelos, D*Face, Antony Micallef, Yinka Shonibare and Mr Brainwash. Selected works from Art Wars went on display across billboard space in the London Underground supported by Art Below.
Proceeds from the exhibition went to the Missing Tom Fund, set up by Moore to support the ongoing search for his brother Thomas Moore who has been missing since 2003. The sell out exhibition was a massive success attracting media attention worldwide and pushing forward the cause and spreading awareness of Missing Tom.
Since 2013 Art Wars has travelled to Sweden, Dubai, Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles with new and well known artists taking part including Anish Kapoor, Retna, Ben Eine, Joe Rush, UnSkilled Worker and Blek Le Rat.
